ASP Executive Meeting

26 January 2009

• I. ASP Membership involvement: Have an open session meeting in addition, post minutes from meetings onto the ASP website
• II. Point System incentives: restart sign-in sheets at every organizational hour. Allison will make a list of every member of ASP and the students will sign by their name. For next years convention, the points system will restart in the fall
• III. Convention Updates: event and hotel registration forms are located in the MERC. There will be a Q&A session on Wednesday at organizational hour about convention
• IV. Pharmfest Updates: all patient care committees should show up or have a representative at the pharmfest meetings and participate. Meetings are every other Tuesday. We are currently waiting to hear back from Pfizer, Wal-Mart and St. Mary’s about sponsorship
• V. Fundraising: Great job on cleaning out the closet with sales of $300-$350 In the future look for convention t-shirts and pharmfest t-shirts
• VI. Gala- already spoke with Lisa at the GA Center and reserved a room, waiting on budget to move forward
• VII. Organizational Hour (February schedule) - Feb. 4^th is Michelle with AMCP, Feb. 11^th -developing professional skills, Feb. 18^th is Pharmacy legislative day at capitol, Feb. 25^th SNPHA. There are no dates left for organizational hour this year unless there are cancelations. Can book for next year.
• VIII. Spring membership drive- Allison- preparing benefits packages and incentives for outgoing 3^rd years
• IX. Website - Still missing some articles from patient care committees, please send to Steven within 2 weeks. Will add link to GPhA website as well for info about legislators. Will begin to post minutes from executive meetings on website
• X. Radio Show- Feb 4^th will feature women’s health. Anyone looking to book a show should contact Michelle.
• XI. Heartburn Comm. Updates: Send emails of recipes to Jennifer (recipes that are heartburn friendly or health-related). Try to include nutritional value. Committee has meeting on Monday Feb. 2^nd
• XII. Diabetes Comm. Updates: Diabetes Expo is March 21^st with Mercer. Watch for email updates with more info
• XIII. Community Service Comm. Updates: Planning to do after school science hour with local elementary school (possibly team with Health and Wellness committee). All Saturdays are booked for habitat build dates. Weekdays- can build from 9am-3pm. May have to rotate hours with 1^st and 2^nd years.
• XIV. Women’s Health Comm. Updates: Radio Show Feb 11^th at 430pm on oral contraceptives
• XV. Health and Wellness Comm. Updates: currently making boards for Pharmfest
• XVI. AIDS: still planning the AIDS walk/run - watch for fundraisers, see Dang if you want to participate in the AIDS walk
• XVII. Historian: Khalil has photobucket account to collect pictures. Include captions and names with any photos you upload. The username is: aspuga01 and password is: aspuga2009
